My Waffling
As previously teased in my Above Us The Sea waffle, this was recommended to me because of it. I read it. I didn't enjoy it that much. Did not expect all three of them to get together - did not like that. Bas was a melt. Who names a human Basil?? I understand a dog, maybe a cat or a lizard. Not a human boy. At the end of the book, as part of the epilogue they get a dog (not called Basil) and they call it Harper. The author accidentally calls it Harv. I did not like how this got through the editing stage, but I was probably in a bad mood from reading this.
As this book was not tragic, the author decided to write gay porn basically. I read a white woman's yaoi and did not enjoy it. The book felt predatory - especially with the surprise "Top or bottom?" conversation that felt very out of place. Would not recommend. Actively run away from this book if you are ever given the chance.
It seems nobody else has the same feelings about this book that I do. So maybe you will like it, but as you can guess I didn't.
2/5
