My Waffling
I could not put this book down. I enjoyed it so much. While trying to see how many pages there were I managed to spoil the ending for myself. I had inklings but wasn't fully there.
This is the first of many Lisa Stone books I will read. I came home from meeting friends, and then read for around an hour because I kept promising myself 'oh, just one more page'. Absolutely great piece of work. Did not see the creature being what it was. I love how her books are rooted, even if loosely, in true concepts. Lisa Stone has recurring characters in this and in Taken, as the police officers are the same. I am curious to see if they are in her other books. It really did feel like I was reading about the next town over. She really nailed the small countryside town feel.
It was an easy read with short chapters, and I loved that. It was my first time reading a thriller book, and I think I have found my favourite genre. As it was such an easy read, in the best way, I have recommended this book to anyone who will listen.
3/5
