Getting back into interests and chilling tf out - 15/6/26

Getting back into interests and chilling tf out

Recently, I have been trying to chill tf out. I've been stressed lately for what feels like no reason and it can make things a bit difficult.

It's also hard to try and enjoy your day when everything is just a bit too much.

TLDR: I like things and I like doing things.

Shows:

So, I have tried to get back into anime, and I would say that it has been mildly successful so far. I have managed to watch the second series of JJK, and also finish the Swordsmith village arc and started the Hashira training arc in Demon Slayer. I thought I could ease myself back in by trying to get myself re invested in characters I used to love, but it's turned out to be more difficult than I thought. I lowkey don't remember what happened and had to google some things, but I recalled most of it.

I also want to watch more Kdramas - they're such a guilty pleasure for me. This also means that I can review them on my website too !! I really do enjoy that a lot.

Blogging:

For my Blogspot, it feels a bit stagnant at the moment. I have been listening to audiobooks, and that means I have to start a new page about them and write up all the reviews. I do put in a lot of time and effort into them, which makes it feel a bit like a chore sometimes. Ultimately I am doing it for fun, and it does need to stay that way. I do just need to get over myself and just do it though lol.

Since learning about Napo, and from deleting all my socials, I have really enjoyed this. I like looking through everyone's websites and reading their blogs if they have one, commenting and interacting with everyone. It feels like so much less pressure and nothing is "embarrassing", like it would feel on Instagram. I do think that it is because I don't have anyone I know in real life on there, so I can just chill out.

Plants:

I also keep letting the temptation of buying more plants win, after my room in my uni flat killed most of them. RIP, they will not be forgotten. Eventually, I will rebuy a variegated cactus paw and my lovely monsteras. Update on the plant I bought a couple days ago: It's thriving!! I gave it a good soak, removed the bad leaves and turned it so most of the leaves were facing the window and it's finally perking up. The lovely plant, according to google lens is a Devil's Ivy / Golden Pothos - with the moss pole is worth about £30. Saved £27.01!

Crafts / Journaling:

I have managed to keep up with my journaling - writing my one line a day to remember what I did and to reflect. Actual, longform journaling has been slacking a lot. The problem with it for me is that if I wait too long, it feels like I have to catch up on over a months worth of stuff - which is not great. Obviously I know I don't have to, but it's getting past that mental block.

For my fun bullet journal that's not that, I need to do some more spreads. I'll have to scour Pinterest!!

I have been practicing writing with my glass pen - so that is a new thing and that's nice and fun! I am trying to write in American Cursive, but it has been so long since I have joined my letters while writing I feel like I'm in year 2 again.

Wordseaches are great fun - I have been using tthe same book since 2023 off and on, and I will have to buy a new one soon :(

Reading:

I have been reading the second Game of Thrones book - I am reading about 2% of it every morning before I get out of bed to walk the dog, then listening to an audiobook or a podcast while I'm doing my 5k. It has around 1100 pages, so I am making progress slowly. I am almost 50% of the way through. I have added this to my list of interests as I started reading this earlier in the year - got fed up, started reading other books at the same time, then binned it off. I got an itch to read it again as I watch the show with my boyfriend when he comes over - and I like to know what REALLY happens.

Music:

On the rare occasion I listen to it, I have been listening to old playlists or my CDs. Normally I like a podcast / audiobook as previously mentioned. But if I have to think, like typing this, then I pop on some music and go "Oh my, I forgot about this song." It's great.

Games:

I have been getting back into Peggle - I play on my PSP. What an absolutely goated game. Need to start playing Stardew Valley / Coral Island again.

If you read this far - thank you so much!! I would love to hear what you've been up to, old or new!!
